This wonderful map is drawn and engraved by J. Rapkin. The Illustrations by J. MARCHANT & Engraved by J. ROGERS have been beautifully created. They are of COSSASKS, ESQUIMAUX DOG-SLEDGE (ESKIMO DOG SLED), MOUNT HEKLA, WAPITI DEER, BEAVERS, FALLS OF NIAGARA, CONVOY OF DIAMONDS, ANCIENT MONUMENT OF MEXICO, NORTH AMERICAN INDIANS. The decorative border that surrounds the map is typical of a John Tallis production and is beautifully scrolled.

Shown on the map is Greenland, Russian America, British Territory (Canada), United States, Western Territory Texas, Mexico, Guatemala. Cuba, Haiti - Beautiful topography and counties named within the Provinces.

From Oceans, Continents, and Polar Regions information: North America, the third largest continent is the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. North America includes all of the mainland and related offshore islands lying N of the Isthmus of Panama (which connects it with South America). The term "Anglo-America" is frequently used in reference to Canada and the United States combined, while the term "Middle America" is used to describe the region including Mexico, the republics of Central America, and the Caribbean.
